InspireINK April Blog Hop: Wedding

Nigezza AKA Gez, Independent Stampin' Up!® Demonstrator

Hi and welcome to the April InspireINK Blog Hop. We are a group of Stampin' Up!® demonstrators who try to insure you with our themed projects. This month the theme is Wedding. I don't think a year goes by without me making at least one wedding card either for a wedding I am attending or someone commissions me to do one. For this project a friend had asked for a wedding card so that was fabulous, I love it when I have a purpose other than a challenge, Blog Hop or tutorial.

InspireINK April Blog Hop Wedding Nigezza Creates

I remembered that the Sweet Soiree papers had one with a wedding theme so decided to check and found the piece with wedding cakes on so decided to use one.

Stampin' Up!® Mirror Technique #stampinforall

Nigezza, AKA Gez, Independent Stampin' Up!® Demonstrator

Thank you for joining me today when I am sharing my project for the challenge on #stampinforall Facebook group where I am a member of the design team. I have been really busy lately so have not joined in many challenges but this week I have done 2 :-)

The theme was the Mirror technique, I have not really done this very successfully before so I have gone for a reflection in the water for my mirror image because it does not have to be a bold outline for this.

Nigezza Creates Mirror technique

#stampinforall

Over on the Facebook group every week there is a DT project and a challenge for everyone to join in with which can really help to focus you when you are lost for inspiration. Also it can make you try techniques you have not tried before or done in a long time. I love being on the design team and love doing the challenges. I particularly liked having a go at this one.

Measurements

  • Stamp set is Beautiful You - I love this set
  • I also used Waterfront for the sky
  • Ink: Basic Grey Archival ink and Dapper Denim
  • Watercolour Pencils to colour the woman - Rich Razzleberry for dress and Melon Mambo for Umbrella and a blender pen
  • Rich Razzleberry Card stock for the base - standard size cut in half and scored in half: 5 7/8" x 8 1/4" - when folded 5 7/8" x 4 1/4"
  • Dapper Denim mat: 5 5/8" x 3 7/8"
  • Extra Thick Whisper White for the final mat that was stamped and watercolored on: 5 3/8" x 3 5/8"
  • Scrap of acetate to stamp on to make the mirror image in the water

This picture show how the mirror technique looks in the water.

Stampin' Up!® Rose Wonder Emboss Resit Card #stampinforall

Nigezza, AKA Gez, Independent Stampin' Up!® Demonstrator

Thank you for joining me today for another #stampinforall DT challenge. This one was set by the lovely Helzie who is also a fellow Pootler. This is not a technique that I have done often, or at all actually at least I can't remember doing it before. I made two versions of this card a bright one and a vintage looking one.

Nigezza Creates #stampinforall emboss resist

Measurements

  • Standard card blank size 5 7/8" x 8 1/4"
  • Folded size 5 7/8" x 4 1/8"
  • 1st mat is 5 5/8" x 3 7/8"
  • 2nd Mat is 5 3/8" x 3 5/8"
  • Of course these sizes can be adjusted for what ever size cardstock you use, mats are 1/4" thinner and shorter.
  • For the colourful card I used
  • Cherry Cobbler base and Dapper Denim mat with Extra Thick Whisper White to stamp on and water colour
  • I also used white embossing powder
  • I water coloured with Cherry Cobbler Ink, Tranquil Tide Ink and Dapper Denim Ink
  • For the vintage card I used
  • Chocolate Chip for the card base and Crumb Cake for the mat and Extra Thick Very Vanilla to stamp on a water colour
  • I also used Clear embossing powder
  • I water coloured with Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Sahara Sand and Soft Suede
  • Emboss resist technique
  • I used the large rose from Rose Wonder, I stamped it on the Extra Thick Cardstock in Versa Mark and then added the Embossing powder and heat set it
  • I then did a colour wash over this using the ink pads
  • The embossed image does not take any colour so you see the image through the ink
  • Sentiment
  • I used out thick Vellum as a band around the mat for the sentiment on both cards
  • I stamped the Thank You sentiment from the Rose Wonder Stamp Set
  • I stamped once in the colour and then again in Versa Mark
  • I used the Stamperatus® for this but the Stamp-a-ma-jig would also work
  • I then used Clear Embossing Powder to heat emboss

Stampin' Up!® 2016:2018 In Colours Simple Birthday Cards

Hi everyone, its that time of the year when we say goodbye to the Stampin' Up!® In Colours from the last 2 years. I will really miss Dapper Denim, Emerald Envy and Sweet Sugar Plum. I am personally not that bothered by Peekaboo Peach and of course Flirty Flamingo is staying.

To show off the In Colours I decided to make 5 simple birthday cards that demonstrate how well out cord stock, ink and ribbon all co-ordinate perfectly. I have used the Sale-A-Bration Springtime Foils paper - sorry if you missed out on the beautiful paper but I do know many of you got your hands on it so this is a lovely way of using them.

If you want these colours I would go to my shop and stock up now as they are selling out fast. Once they are sold out Stampin' Up! will not be stocking anymore.

Nigezza Creates Stampin' Up! retiring In Colours

Measurements

  • Card blank is a standard piece of card stock cut in half, folded in half
  • For a A4 sheet this measures 5 7/8" x 8 1/4" - adjust for your cardstock size
  • The mat is 1/4" thinner and shorter
  • For A4 this measures 5 5/8" x 3 7/8" - - adjust for your cardstock size
  • The mat was inked using a sponge and the matching ink for the card stock
  • I cut out the Happy Birthday using the large Die in the matching colour as the card base
  • To help with the stick of this to the card I would probably use a double sided adhesive sheet in the future.
  • I used the matching Striped Grosgrain Ribbon
  • I used a small length of Whisper white Sheer Ribbon to tie a bow for the finishing touch

Stampin' Up® On Stage 2018 Swaps

Last weekend I attended On Stage in Telford. What an amazing day, I got to see my Stampin' Up! family, see the new catalogue, order from the new catalogue and swap with some amazing people. Today I am showing you the swaps I made for this event. I did a simple design that held an After 8 mint with the addition of a charm.

On Stage swaps Nigezza 2018

Measurements

I used the Picture Perfect Party DSP and a few sheets of Tutti-Frutti DSP. I got 2 ouches from one 6' x 6' sheet.
  • 3' x 6'
  • Score on Long side at 2 1/2" - 5'
  • Belly band half a sheet of standard Whisper Wide cut into 1' strips
  • I used the Bubble Over stamp set for the 'Thank you'
  • I used the A Good Day stamp set for the dotted circle
  • I stamped onto Whisper White in what ever colour coordinated with the pattern on the paper
  • This was cut out using the 1 3/8' Scallop Circle punch
  • Another circle was punch out using the 1 1/2' circle punch in the same colour card stock as the ink I used
  • The pouch was glued on the small flap to form a pocket where the After 8 was placed
  • I cut a small strip 2 1/2' x 2' out of the same colour card stock as I used for the circle topper
  • I used the Tag Topper punch on this and stuck a sticker with my detail on and a 'Hand made with love' charm

Pootles Team Celebration Afternoon

I love being a Pootler, thats what team members under Pootles are called. I am Sam's second level team member, this means I am in Crafty Caroline's team and she is in Sam (Pootles) direct team. I love having 2 amazing Stampin' Up! Demo's as my team leader and Stampin' Up! Grandma (sorry Sam!)

Pootles team swaps

I received amazing swaps from the team - such talented individuals. They are full of lots of inspiration and I will be CASEing some of them for sure.

The swap I made was a little bag that held a scissor charm.

Pootles Team Swaps

What an amazing weekend I've had. It started on Friday with a Pootles Team Celebration afternoon and then on Saturday it was On Stage - Stampin' Up! annual catalogue launch. It is lovely to get together with the team, we chat every day online but it is so much better when we can do it in person. Like at On Stage when the Pootlers get together we swap. Today I am going to show what I made for the team.

Pootles team swaps

These are little mini gift bags which surprisingly took me an age to make and so I abandoned the toper I had planned as it got to 1.30am on the day I was leaving at 9am and sleep was required! In the picture you should be able to see a scissor charm - this is what was inside the bag, a scissor charm for everyones snips :-)

Measurements

Because I was making 56 of these I wanted to use as little DSP as possible so designed this little bag that could be made from a 3" x 3 3/4" piece so you get 12 from a 12" x 12" sheet!

I used Fresh Florals for the this bag and used all the current in colours. I fastened each bag with some Whisper White Bakers twine and tied 56 bows! Never again! lol

  • Fresh Florals DSP 3" x 3 3/4"
  • Score on Long side @ 1 1/4" - 1 3/4" - 3"- 3 1/2"
  • Score on Short side @ 1/2
  • Flip over and score again @ 1/2"
  • The 1/2" scored on wrong side is folded over and glued down
  • The the back is made up as usual
I have no idea why it took so ling to put these bags together, lots of snipping, notching, scoring, burnishing, gluing I guess.

Charm

I bought the charms from eBay and the fastenings and attached the charm to the fastening. There are loads to choose from and they are inexpensive, I got 15 for 99Pp These were then wrapped in tissue and placed in the bag.

So now you have the supplies, press play below and craft along with me :-)
