Eastern Palace Gift Box

Watch my latest YouTube tutorial here!

I really do love this set, the stamps put together make stunning patterned paper and the dies work really well together to make medallions and flowers.

To make this cube box I stamped the lid and used some of the new in colours for 2017-2019.  I LOVE Fresh Fig <3.

I have created different patterns using this set, photopolymer stamps allow you to see through them which makes creating patterns really easy.

I used the new Eastern Beauty stamp set on Very Vanilla card stock and the ink colours I used were the 3 new in colours, Tranquil Tide, Fresh Fig and Lemon and Lime Twist.

I used 2 pieces of card stock cut for the lid and the base
Lid = 4' x 4'
scored at 1' on all 4 sides
Base = 6' x 6' (minus 1/16th of an inch on each side) it is important to take this sliver off so that the lid fits.
Score at 2' on all 4 sides

This gives you a box that is 2x2x2 forming  a cube.

The box was decorated with a flower cut using 2 dies from the Eastern Medallion Die set.

To make the box once of the score lines are cut up, turn cardstock 90 degrees and cut again and then repeat until all four sides have one cut up to the score line. All four corners are notched and a small section cut off.  Glue is applied (fast fuse, tombow or tear and tape should be used - snail is not strong enough for a box. Each flap is glued to a different side of the box so each side is reinforced.

The lid is made in the usual way , cut up two score lines on opposite sides, notch them and then stick flaps on opposite sided.

The flower was cut in the same colour cardstock as the base (Fresh Fig) and a 1/2 inch circle cut with the 1/2 inch circle punch. the petals were separated and bent up, the circle was stuck in the centre and then glued to the top of the lid.

I really like the result.

Eastern Palace: the new suite by Stampin Up!

As a Stampin Up demonstrator I get to see and buy items from the new catalogue before the general public. This suite is available as a preorder for customers from May 1st 2017.  If you would like to order this then please visit my shop. Shop Here!

I used the new extra thick Very Vanilla Card stock as the card base, I am so excited that this is available as it makes excellent card bases. I cut the A4 card stock in half and scored in half to make a standard card blank. I cut a mat 1/4 of an inch shorter and thinner than the card base to create an 1/8th of an inch.

For the wedding card I used standard very vanilla card stock which I embossed with the falling petals embossing folder then I cut out the large medallion die from the Eastern Palace suite. This die stays in the card stock to create a stunning effect. I then used the second to largest stitched circle die to create a circle that I stamped my sentiment on.

For the anniversary card I used one of the new 2017-2019 in colours Fresh Fig.  I think this is going to be my new favourite! I stamped the sentiment from the Eastern Palace stamp set and the middle circle frame from the set, I added a heart from the Owl punch and stuck this to the mat that I embossed and die cut as for the wedding card.  The colour of this mat against the base really shows how stunning this medallion die is. I cut the sentiment out using s stitched circle die (a smaller one that fits the stamped circle and I popped it up with dimensional's.  the mat was stuck to base using tombow glue.

Card took about 1 minutes to make - simple - stunning - quick. What's not to like?!

Quick and simple bitterfly card

Watch my latest vidoe tutorial!

I did this simple make and take at my last class, it takes minimum products and I hope you will agree it  is simply stunning. The other great thing about this card is that it is very quick and easy to make.

As well as the card I also made a matching gift tag.  I used one colour ink pad - Dapper Denim and stamped it 3 times without reinking to give it 3 different shades of this colour.  You can of course use 3 colours that coordinate together well as I have here. I used Rich Razzle Berry, Sweet Sugar Plum and Flirty Flamingo.

I used extra thick Whisper White card stock - half an A4 sheet, scored in half to for a standard C6 card blank. I used a piece 3 1/2 by 2 for the tag and a scrap big enough to cut 4 butterflies from the large Butterfly punch.  Stamp sets used were the large splodge from Gorgeous Grunge and the sentiment from Basic Butterflies. I also used 3 small Rhinestones for each butterfly for the body. I also used a sponge dabber and the Tag Topper Punch for the tag.

The large splodge was stamped once to give the full colour then stamped a second time without returning to the stamp pad (second generation stamping) and then stamped a third time without reinking (third generation stamping).  This gives the effect of 3 different colours from one stamp pad.

Butterflies was sponged on the wings, I inked up the sponge dabber and inked first butterfly, without dipping in ink again I did the same to the second and third butterfly, this was again so that the colour was different on all 3 butterflies.  The forth one was for the tag so I reinked for this one.

The butterfly wings were then curled with a bone folder, 3 small rhinestones added for the body and the butterflies were stuck in place using tombow glue.

This card is really quick to make perfect for when you need a card in a hurry without compromising on the 'WOW' factor!

Easter treats

Click here to Watch my latest YouTube Tutorial

I wanted to make some fun Easter treats for a group of teenagers I was spending Easter with.  As there was going to be 16 of them it was going to be quite expensive so I bought a selection of mini eggs and split the packets and mixed them and used the little cellophane bags.  I decorated the tops with an Easter chick using the own builder punch.  I think they look fun and I a sure the kids will like them.

I used the owl punch and punch out the body, 2 small circles and the heart, I did this in yellow card stock and I also did it in whisper white card stock and coloured these using the water colour pencils. I cut the owl ears off by following the curve of the body, coloured with the yellow water coloured pencil and used a blender pen to give it a water colour effect.  I used the Pumpkin Pie pencil to colour the feet and heart shape, again blended with the blender pen. I coloured 2 pearls with a black sharpie pen.  I cut a half scalloped circle for the wings and again coloured as \I did the body. I then cut a circle in whisper white using the 2 1/2 inch circle pinch. I inked all the edges in peekaboo peach. I stamped a small Happy Easter greeting in Peekaboo peach and used the small label punch to cut it out ad again inked the edges.

Then I stuck it all together, the half scalloped circle was cut in half and stuck to the bac of the chick at an angle, I stuck the heart in the middle of the body and stuck the eyes on the 2 rounded tops of the heart. I then positioned the peals in the centre of the eyes. I folded the celo bag over twice, placed the folded circle over the fold and stapled it together. Using Dimensional's I stuck the chick to the topper and stuck the greeting on it.

Simple easy to make projects - even simpler when yellow card is used.

For the products please visit my shop - remember the water colour pencils are available in the occasions catalogue and may not be carried over to new catalogue in June so get them while you can!

Stampin Up Touches of Texture #2

Here is my latest video.

I love the Touches of Texture stamp set it is so versatile.  I decided to make my own background paper.  Love the colour (Stampin Ups Island Indigo) I stamped 3 times with the one inking to get the 3 different colours from one ink colour.

I randomly stamped all over the paper with the flower stamp and then used the flower  outline and went over all the flowers.  The A4 card stock was cut into 4 equal mats for 4 cards and added a strip of Island Indigo card stock to act as a 'fake ribbon' and stamped a Happy Birthday sentiment from the Better Together stamp set and punch it out using the Decorative label punch. I then added some pearls to the ribbon strip and popped the mat up on Dimensional's.

I think the result is stunning.
