Thank you for reading my blog today :-)
Today I am remaking a project I made years ago, I found it on Pinterest and cannot find the original pin - they change Pinterest os often now I am not convinced it for the better! Anyway the original required 2 sheets of 12x12 and 1 of A4 but I wanted to scale it down so all sheets could be A4 as not everyone has 12x12 and not all Stamping Up colours are available in 12x12. So this is what I came up with. I have not finished all the embellishment yet as I tend to do that as I put photos in. My original was made to scrapbook my holiday in Las Vegas to celebrate my sisters 50th, I then got a bit addicted to them and spent a weekend with my foster boys and youngest son and we scrapped all sorts of things. Easy to do in a day, the boys really enjoyed doing them and I hope you will as well :-).
I used the Merry Little Christmas DSP, the reverse sides of the sheets are quite generic so don't have to be for Christmas. I also used Old Olive Cardstock, Sheer Ribbon and Glitter Gems. I also used some Whisper White and Basic Black Cardstock and the Bow Builder Punch and Everyday Label Punch.
For the 3 layers of the box you need:
8x8 score @ 2 3/4 on all for sides
7 3/4 x 7 3/4 score @ 2 3/4 on all for sides
7 1/2 x 7 1/2 score @ 2 3/4 on all for sides
For the lid:
4 5/8 x 4 5/8 score @ 1" on all for sides
For the mats:
Outer layer mats = 8 x - 2 1/2 x 2 1/4
Middle layer mats = 8 x - 2 1/2 x 2
Inner layer mats = 8 x - 2 1/2 x 1 7/8
Center mat = 1 x - 1 7/8 x 1 7/8
Lid mats = 2 x - 2 3/8 x 2 3/8 & 8 x 2 3/8 x 3/4
Decorate as you feel works best for you, I used the Everyday Label Punch, 2 1/4 Circle punch and the Starburst punch and Beautiful You stamp set, but for the original I just cut the photos and mats to size and rounded the corners. I love how it turned out.
I would love to see your exploding boxes if you make this.
Thanks for joining me for this project I hope you liked it, see you again soon
