Stampin' Dreams February Blog Hop - Movies & TV

Nigezza Creates aka Gez, Independent Stampin' Up® Demonstrator

Thank you for visiting my blog, I really do appreciate it. Today I am taking part in the Stampin' Dreams blog hop. The theme is Movies and TV! So we are making projects influenced by a film or a TV show we have seen. I thought about it for a while and came up with this Valentines card.  Ed is really into films and can often quote verbatim whole chunks of his favourite films. He has many favourites and one of them is The Indiana Jones series. So this is my influence for this card. I am using the Stampin' Up! set Beautiful world and other elements from the World of good suite. I wanted to create the look of a battered old leather bag.

Measurements and Materials

  • Card mat in Cinnamon Cider was cut with the largest stitched rectangle
  • It was then embossed with the Old World Paper embossing folder to give an old leather look
  • So that it matted well on the card base I cut my card stock down to 5 1/2" tall
  • The card was decorated with die cuts from the die set
  • The lovely Antique Corners were used to add to the old look of the card and again give the impression of the old bag
  • The lovely Early Espresso Faux sued ribbon and an Antique slider complete the look of the old bag
  • The old fashioned globe adds to the theme and the sentiment on a stand mirrors the globe
  • The sentiment from the Stamp set is perfect for the card and for Valentines Day I think
  • I added the detail to the card mat because I could! There is a die in the set that does this and I just wanted to add it!

  2. Love your take on the Indiana Jones theme. So many interesting ideas for a ‘different’ type of theme.

  4. Your card does have that Indiana Jones, kind of weathered traveler look to it!! This was such a fun theme for a hop!
