I have the last video in my Green Winter TN series. In this instalment I am making the cover. I have really enjoyed making this journal & I hope you have been checking out my videos and maybe crafted along. I do have a playlist on my YouTube channel with all the videos in case you have missed some.
For the cover I have used a method I saw Yvonne Preston do. I printed the background page from the kit onto 200gsm card, I used some 120gsm coffee dyed paper fr the inside and I sandwiched these between 300gsm card. So the cover is very solid. I used my sewing machine to sew all around the cover and added a strip of lace to for a pocked on the inside of both the front and back cover.
I used some tea dyed cotton for the spine and added some ribbon to cover the frayed edges on the front but liked how they looked on the back. A simple book plate for the front with some cheese cloth and ribbon behind and tied with string.
