Gothic Journal: Finishing Touches

Nigezza Creates aka Gez, Independent Stampin' Up® Demonstrator

Thank you for visiting my blog, I really do appreciate it. Today as part of my junk journal series I am bringing you the last episode in my Gothic Journal series. This time I am adding the finishing touches. You can see all the episodes in my playlist on my YouTube channel.

Gothic Journal: Finishing Touches

Measurements and Materials

  • I added vellum page and punched a decorative edge
  • I added a doily because all junk journals need a doily!
  • I created tags for the tuck spots
  • I created pockets for the inside of the front and back cover
  • I sewed lace on the edge of some of the pages

Now watch the video tutorial to see how this was made :-)

My Gothic Journal: Sewing In The Signatures

Nigezza Creates aka Gez, Independent Stampin' Up® Demonstrator

Thank you for visiting my blog, I really do appreciate it. Today as part of my junk journal series I am bringing you another episode in my Gothic Journal. This time I am sewing in the signatures

My Gothic Journal: Sewing In The Signatures

Measurements and Materials

  • I created a template for making the holes in the signatures
  • This is important as you need each hole to made in the same place so that the pages are even and they go in straight
  • I cut my thin card for the template the same height as the signature
  • Template for holes for sewing signatures
    • 8 1/4" x 2 1/2"
    • Mark 7/8" from each long side and draw a line
    • Fold in half longways to find the centre point on the 2 lines drawn
    • Fold each end to the centre and fold each end to this fold
      • This is where the 2 outer holes will be
      • See picture of the template
  • I then did the 3 hole pamphlet stitch

Now watch the video tutorial to see how this was made :-)
