Kylie Bertucci International Highlights Winners Blog hop

Nigezza Creates aka Gez, Independent Stampin' Up® Demonstrator

Thank you for visiting my blog today, I really do appreciate it. I would like to say a big welcome if you are visiting me for the first time. I am Gez and I am a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator in the UK. I am absolutely delighted to be taking part in the Kylie Bertucci's International Blog Highlights Winners Hop. To be on this hop you have to enter a card and have been voted as one of the top ten entries. This was the first time I had entered and I was absolutely blown away to be in the top ten and not only that but to be second!

Kylie Bertucci International Highlights Winners Blog hop

Yes I was #2! So now I am on a blog hop with the very lovely Kylie from Australia and the other top ten winners. So excited. Cannot wait to see what everyone else has made. The theme is thanks as was the original theme. Below is the card I made for the voting. I used a Christmas set from the new Stampin' Up! mini catalogue, Poinsettia Petals,  that has a lovely thank you sentiment. I thought this would be a lovely card to give to guest you have over the festive season or to give to a host if you had Christmas with family or friends. I think it has a lovely frosty wintery feel.

For this blog hop I have once again used a Christmas set from the new Mini catalogue, snowflake Wishes. I love that it also has a thank you sentiment and I just adore the wittiness in this sentiment, it really appeals to my Dad joke sense of humour!

Measurements and Materials

  • Card base is Thick Whisper White
    • 8 1/4" x 5 7/8"
    • Scored @ 4 1/8" on the long side
    • This makes a standard C6 card
    • If your card stock is 8 1/2" x 11" then make your usual card base size as it will still work beautifully with that :-)
  • The centre of the card base was cut out using the large die from So any Snowflakes
  • The Vellum backing was cut using the largest die from the Stitched Nested Label Dies
    • If you do not have these dies you can just cut a penal big enough to cover the aperture
  • The 3 smallest snowflakes were die cut using Highland Heather card stock
  • The 'Thank you Snow much' sentiment was stamped in Highland Heather onto Whisper White and die cut with the second largest circle from the Stitched Shapes dies
    • This was then popped up on dimensionals on top of the vellum so it sort of floats
    • I really likes the way both dies gave a stitched edge
  • To finish off the card I colour some pearls with the Dark Highland Heather blends marker and placed one in the centre of each snowflake

Video Tutorial

I will have the video tutorial ready for you later so do pop back and check it out :-)

Kylie's International Blog Highlight August 2020 - Thank You
The theme this month is thank you. As the new Mini catalogue is just launching I decided to use a set from that. The Poinsettia Petals has a lovely thank you sentiment which souls be perfect for giving to guests yo may ave at Christmas to thank them for their company or to hosts if you spend Christmas with them.

Measurements and Materials

I have used vellum and white embossing powder to make these poinsettias look really special. I chose Night of Navy so the card stands out from the Christmas cards they are likely to have and so it will look good after they have taken their Christmas decorations down.

  • Card Base - Night of Navy card stock
    • 8 1/4" x 5 7/8"
    • Score @ 4 1/8" on long side
  • Mat for outside - Night of Navy
    • 3 7/8" x 5 5/8"
    • Embossed using the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder
  • Mat for inside - Whisper White card stock
    • 3 7/8" x 5 5/8"
    • Stamped with Night of Navy ink
    • Poinsettia Petals stamp set
  • Poinsettia stamps were stamped in Versamark ink on to Vellum
  • This was then covered in White embossing powder and heat embossed
  • They were then die cut using the Poinsettia dies
  • Sentiment heat embossed on to Night of Navy card stock
  • Die cut using a stitched oval die
  • Matted with a scallop oval die cut from Vellum

Time for the closeups!
