Stamping Multiple Colours With The Stamparatus

Nigezza Creates aka Gez, Independent Stampin' Up® Demonstrator

Thank you for visiting my blog, I really do appreciate it. Today I am bringing you the tutorial for the card I made for the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop, this month we were looking at the Stamparatus. This is the stamp positioning platform from Stampin' Up! I love this platform, there are 2 main things that make this one better than the rest, it has 2 plates so you can mount 4 different stamps that makes bulk making really useful. I do a lot of bulk card making and this is a real time saver. I recently made 40 easter cards with was a simple 2 stamp design, once the stamps were positioned on the 2 plates the cards were made in no time. There is a picture below of this card.

The second big difference is the 'hinge step' the plates can be moved left to right or up and down along the hinge. This is great for stamping a row of images or sentiments. I am not demonstrating this today but have done it recently in my wallet card project.  I stamped a decorative border on the inserts using this method.

Measurements and Materials

The Stamparatus is brilliant for stamping again in exactly the same position. This is perfect if your ink is a little dry as you can build up the colour. Also good if your hands are not very steady, or you tend to rock your stamps, with the platform you get clean images and you can add more ink and stamp again to improve the result. I am demonstrating how you can stamp over and over again adding different colours to the image.

To make this card I positioned the large floral stamp from Ornate Style (this is on sale right now and is a bargain at just £8)

  • I wanted to create a colourful floral display without colouring in the image.
  • So I used the Brights Stampin' Write Markers, which you can both colour and stamp with.
  • I added ink from the markers to the different areas of the stamp I wanted and stamped it on my card.
  • I then repeated for another colour in another area of the image.
  • No need to clean stamp in between as any colour still on the stamp would just be going onto the correct colour
  • A super easy technique for the Stamparatus that gives a really nice result
  • I do not think you would be able to create this without the aid of this platform
  • I stamped the sentiment using the Gorgeous Grape marker onto basic white and punched out with the Classic Label punch
  • I went around the punch out with the Gorgeous Grape marker to give a faux mat
  • I also used the marker to colour the white bakers twine before making a bow and adding to the sentiment

Now watch the video tutorial to see how this was made :-)

I made the card in the Regals with a touch of Neutrals for the blog hop.

Using the step hinge technique I created this border of 3 images, you would think this was one stamp but the stamp is just one third of the border and with the Stamparatus I was able to stamp it 3 times in a row and get a perfectly straight border. Very easy and quickly.

Easter Card I made using the Stamparatus, I made 40 of these. I have the cross on one plate and the Happy Easter greeting on another and it was very quick and easy to stamp first the cross and then the greeting. The platform has the hinge on 2 sections so it is easy to close one plate and then the other.
