Stampin Up Shabby Chic Cat card

I bought the Cat punch because of the many 'Crazy Cat Lady' friends I have! I knew the potential for making them cards was huge.  I decided to do something a little different with this card so went for Shabby Chic rather than make the cat look like a real cat.

The card base is a standard card base A4 Extra Thick Whisper White cut in half folded I half, this makes a C6 card 5 7/8th x 4 1/8th
I cut a mat in Sweet Sugar Plum 1/4 inch smaller on both sides - 5 5/8th x 3 7/8th
I cut another mat in Whisper White again 1/4 inch smaller on both sides 5 3/8th x 3 5/8th and this was the layer I decorated.

To create the back ground I stamped in Sweet Sugar Plum using the Burlap Background stamp, I stamped off first and used the second generation ink on the card as I wanted the back ground to be more subtle.

I cut the cats out of Floral Garden DSP, remembering to cut the second cat the opposite way round so they can face each other.

I cut the Stitched Heart and Pom Poms from the Trim Your Stocking thinlit set - there are so many elements in this set that it makes it not just for Christmas but an all year round set.

I used some Pool Party Glimmer Ribbon with a smaller ribbon layered on top.  For this ribbon I took some Whisper White Sheer ribbon and coloured it Sweet Sugar Plum using the Stampin Write Markers.

I stamped a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Sentiments in Sweet Sugar Plum and punched it out with the Label Punch.

I really like how it turned out - what do you think?
